PIE CONFERENCE
Posted: April 2012
We had the opportunity to attend the annual P.I.E. (Partners in Excellence) Conference hosted by STANDOX, our paint company, in Maui at the St. Regis on March 30-April 1. This was our first PIE Conference and let me tell you it was an informative one. Not only was this a great networking event where invitees were from all over the United States, but we also got a first look at where the market is heading and what is to come in the future, which are more electric vehicles, fuel efficient models, matte color finish on vehicles and a lot of vehicles with sensory awareness driving capabilities or vehicles with the abilities to slow down before getting into a rear end collision.
With guest speakers presenting information on industry trend updates to customer relationships to business models, we took home a wealth of information. We feel it is very important to keep up with our industry and provide benefits for our customers. Our state of the art work station is an example of how we like to provide everything we can to get the job done and get the job done right. Continuing education is also something we feel is important for our technicians to keep up with. Keeping up with the industry again is what makes us leaders in our community.

Do I need 3 estimates?
Posted: March 2012
Very often customers come in and tell us “My insurance company asked me to drive around and get three estimates. Why do I need three?” The answer is YOU DO NOT NEED three estimates. One estimate from the collision repair shop where you would like to get your vehicles repaired is all they need. Insurance companies would like you to get three so they can work with the lowest estimate. Lower estimates do not necessarily mean they are cutting corners when they are repairing your vehicle but should raise some red flags as to why they are not in tune with the rest of the market. Ultimately it is your decision where you would like to get your vehicle repaired. Do not let the insurance companies lure you in to working with a company you would not like to work with. Do some research and see which company you would like to work for you when repairing your vehicle. Again it is YOUR vehicle and YOU have the option of choosing where YOU would like YOUR vehicle repaired.
WASHING YOUR VEHICLE AFTER REPAIRS
Posted: February 2012
We suggest you use mild soap and water when washing your vehicle after repairs. Due to the curing process of the fresh paint on your vehicle, we suggest you do not use wax or any products containing wax or polish on your vehicle for about 90 days.
Running your vehicle through a car wash is also not recommended for about 90 days after repairs. This could severely ruin the fresh paint on your vehicle.
